Jianye was born in Kunming, Yunnan province. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees at South-Central Minzu university in organic chemistry. After her Master’s, she decided to pursue her career in organic chemistry, in 2020, as an official co-culture student between Central China Normal University and Shanghai institute of organic chemistry, she moved to Shanghai to undertake her Ph.D. During this time, she worked in Zhangguozhu’s group on the Photo-indued copper-catalyzed radical cascade reaction to building heterocycles. In 2022 She joined the Zuo lab as a joint student to work on Cerium/Nickel-catalyzed cyclization of alcohols. Outside the chemistry lab Jianye enjoys food, reading and hiking.
