Hui was born and raised in Jiangsu province. He earned a B.S. in chemistry from Lanzhou University in 2013. Following a three-year stint in the pharmaceutical industry, he embarked on further studies and pursued a Doctorate in Organic Chemistry, guided by the erudite Professor Zuo Zhiwei, at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry/ShanghaiTech University. In January 2023, He commenced the next chapter of his scholarly voyage as a postdoctoral researcher at Zuo group, specializing in high-value methane conversion and flow chemistry. Outside of his research endeavors, he has a keen interest in history and enjoys cycling.
