Hexiang was born in Linyi, China. He obtained his bachelor of chemistry at Jilin University in 2022, where he did undergraduate research on natural product synthesis in the group of Prof. Bo Wang. He is currently undertaking his PhD thesis under the supervision of Prof. Zhiwei Zuo at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, working on photocatalytic HAT process mediated by Ti.
